This attorney deserves less than one star. He was retained by my mentally ill uncle after my grandfather died. He was retained by my grandfather when he was 90 years old and lacked capacity. He had my uncle bring paperwork to my mother who is only 53 years old to sign off on giving my mentally ill uncle conservatorship and sealed custody order. Why would any attorney think my 54 year old mother would need these documents signed. I was mortified when my mother told me that my mentally ill uncle was sent by his attorney to sign these documents. Don’t let your love ones near this attorney! Especially elderly people that are changing trust because of a disturbed adult children. This attorney has horrible reviews so believe what you read and the review that was deleted.

Our experience with Steven Alkema was terrible. I consider he participated in Elder Abuse and conflict of interest in his execution of a family Trust. The final straw was he “borrowed” the elder’s own copy Trust book & never returned it to the family who pleaded initially to see if cremation was prepaid and after the elder’s passing to understand the elements of the Trust.
