Sylvia Goldschmidt is a fantastic attorney. She works in an extremely difficult (and often emotionally charged) field. I spent five years with her, because my crazy ex (aren’t they all?) wouldn’t settle. I found her to be responsive, thoughtful of her clients legal costs, but most importantly, brilliant. I switched from a different attorney at the start of my case, and there was a world of difference. Nobody is going to like seeing their divorce, attorney, the way nobody is going to like their dentist. Not a “feel good” profession, but at the end of the day, there is nobody better to have in your corner. Every detail that Sylvia fought to include in my eventual divorce stip was drafted or revised with such specificity that when disagreements arose years later- Sylvia’s drafting saved me. Words matter in this game and Sylvia is second to none. I’m very glad I found her. I’m now happily remarried with more kids. My advice is chose your divorce attorney wisely if you didn’t chose your spouse wisely. Sylvia was the light in a dark tunnel for me, and will always have a place in my heart. Just the best.
Sylvia Goldschmidt, is THE absolute worst, and is incompetent. I went to her for a divorce. It took 3 years for a divorce that should have taken 6 months…She would kiss my, ex husband hello, as though she was working for him…(with the deal I got, she might have been)…At end of divorce, the ex was to pay for my leagal bills, but she sent me an additional bill for $40,000, to finish the details, (which I paid, beside, the original retainer). However, she never did finish it, after she received the money…I never heard from her again. After many calls, I had to hire another attorney (another retainer) to get Cobra and other details. To show her true incompetency, Goldschmidt negotiated for me to receive LLC’s that the ex husband owned, in lieu of money he owed me. Though I didn’t know at the time LLC’s are useless if the president (who was my ex’s partner) doesn’t want you to see them, (which they would not allow me to see) over the course of 5-6 years they all went bankrupt, I didn’t see a penny, nor the tax write off. Sylvia Goldschmidt should’ve known that… its just attorney/finance 101. Sylvia allowed ex’s attorney to bully me in depositions and Goldschmidt herself bullied me. I could go on with stories of her appalling behavior…into making deals with ex’s attorney, that was not my best interest, but there’s not enough space. I couldn’t leave Goldschmidt as I didn’t have the money to hire someone else…The divorce happened a while ago, but the damage she has done resonates today and every day of my life… Don’t let her ruin your life…as she did mine…
