DUXBURY Marc, a Criminal Justice Attorney and Family Law Attorney in Carlsbad, California, has received mixed reviews from clients. While some have expressed disappointment regarding his communication and courtroom performance, others found him to be a good listener and appreciated his ability to provide reassurance and support during challenging legal matters. Overall, clients who had positive experiences emphasized his attentiveness and the effective assistance he provided in navigating their legal issues.
I had an extremely disappointing experience with attorney Marc Duxbury. From the start, his behavior was incredibly unprofessional—every other word out of his mouth was an expletive, making it difficult to take him seriously. After four weeks of complete radio silence, I decided to cut him loose. In that entire time, he did absolutely nothing for me—literally nothing. Yet, he still had the audacity to charge me $7,000. The only thing he provided was bad advice, which left me worse off than when I started.
Mark was very easy to work with. When we first spoke over the phone, he gave my wife and me all the details we needed and made us feel reassured that help was available. We decided to hire Mark for our Chapter 7 bankruptcy case, and he, along with Elizabeth, did a fantastic job. They always kept us informed and promptly contacted us whenever they needed anything for the trustee.
Worst attorney I’ve ever encountered. 9 out of 10 times I got off the phone with him I was in tears because of how he talked talked to and treated me. My son’s Dad is a felon who beat me and broke my nose (along with serving 13 years in prison and 6 prior DV charges) yet Marc brought non of that up in court. He never remembered anything that had to do with my case or showed up to court once. He calls in and says absolutely nothing. I even tried to say something to defend a flat out lie from my ex and the judge said I had an attorney to speak for me, however he said zero. When I called to let him know how upset I was about him not accomplishing anything in 6 months, his response was “did you call just to complain or do you have an actual question?” When I consulted with him, he told me he had been doing this for 30 years and could win this case in his sleep. Maybe he should sleep in court because he’s useless awake.
