I paid 500$ for representation in advance for a court appearance. I was supposed to have Cox but I ended up with another man. He didn’t even introduce himself so I don’t even know his name. He was a tall, slender man with dark hair. He was late getting to the courthouse and he had not been fully briefed on my case. He was rushing me and he did not take the time to listen to me or answer any of my questions. The whole process was rushed and it was because of this man. He kept talking over me and interrupting me. He did not defend me at all. He said I had a “prior charge” and best he could do was have me plead guilty and I got 1 year probation. Keep in mind that I discussed everything in detail with the other lawyer and was completely terrified going before the judge. The lawyer I got made it very clear to me that he was not even supposed to be the one representing me and that he was annoyed that he had to drive from Paris to Dresden to handle my case. Apparently 500$ gets you probation and guilty plea deal. I was in tears pleading with this man to help me. I even had a police officer who was willing to testify on my behalf. First time I ever paid for a lawyer and it was a very negative experience. I will say that Attorney Cox , when I spoke with him was very helpful and I was disappointed to not have had him representing me.
