The Bristol County District Attorneys in Taunton, Massachusetts, have received mixed reviews from the community regarding their handling of cases, particularly concerning mental health issues. While some reviewers express frustration over delays and perceived lack of compassion, others appreciate the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. Overall, there is a call for improvement in the system to better support individuals facing mental health challenges and to ensure timely justice.
My daughter has been incarcerated for over a year and the doctors report was finally filed with the court saying that she is not criminally resposible now they want one of their doctors to evaluate her and now after over a year they let her have a personal recognance only she has cases in 2 other courts since her incarceration she had warrants in Falmouth court and nobody picked up on them all since she’s been incarcerated. What kind of game are they playing with my daughters life. All of a sudden give her a personal after over a year incarceration. They have not sent their doctor to the jail to evaluate her , they have the doctors report stating she’s not criminally resposible and she has exceeded the amount of jail time she would get if found guilty for her charges. She has schizophrenia in bipolar severely. But refusing to put her in a hospital to get the help she needs. The doctor said she was incompetent and not criminally resposible. Taunton’s district attorneys are full of a bunch of morons that do not do their job in a timely manner, the whole system has failed my daughter . The one judge stated in court this is a lifetime of mental illness had to withdraw because she flipped out in the courtroom and he cannot sit on the bench for her now. My daughters mental illness has got worse being incarcerated for over a year because they do not do their jobs accordingly.
If I could give less than one star I would. Specifically Seamus Walsh very clearly lacks any compassion and simply says things in the moment to pacify ppl. Hes unreliable at best. Do better Taunton! Way to make your witnesses feel prepared and less anxious. Well done!!
100% agree w Michael – my experience w DAs office was eye opening.. I always thought the court system was about Justice but they refused to allow me any evidence and when I tried to present it to ADA/prosecuted I was told “I’m at lunch”. THIS was after my many calls to the Ada’s office were not returned. Also someone should advise ada and prosecutor how to dress.. one in skin tight pants looked like a tramp and the other stuffed sausage suit trotting around in high heels all day in the courthouse is RIDICULOUS
