It’s a shame these people will defend people that don’t deserve it. How is it that you guys helped someone who hasn’t paid rent in over 7 months get an additional year with no payment. Will you guys defend me when the lender comes to foreclose me? How is it just that you guys find loop holes to delay these processes for months and years, does legal aid care that I as a property owner can’t afford a Attourney also? It is not fair that just cause you see it to keep someone housed you make the other party suffer.

I must wonder if lone star legal receives funds or grants from the government and private donations and sponsorships. Because it seems all they do is collect data to say they help a x number of Houstonians- yet have quick turnaround to denied the majority of applicants. It’s most likely expected since most of the administration attorneys have been in there positions for over 45 years. Such a shame. Praying for better leadership.

Lone Star Legal Aid is a waste of time. They tell you that you qualify, take all your personal information, then send a denial letter days later. They don’t actually help.

They told me they gonna help me and after few days send me the email that their not going to do anything for me

No matter how severe your case is, they will deny you. I am an army veteran requesting legal aid for an eviction error from another state that the courthouse themselves have no record of. First Advantage refuse to investigate by simply calling to confirm this error. I’ve been denied on several resident applications. Now I’m being evicted and terminated from the Houston Housing Choice Voucher program because I couldn’t find housing by the vouchers’ expiration date. Now I will be homeless with my 2 children, and legal aid could have prevented this. They denied me. But I have also been denied multiple times for other legal issues in the past. They should be investigated for fraud and discrimination. I noticed that if you’re African American or receiving government assistance such as Housing, they will refuse to help you. This organization should be dismantled. Who do you help? What type of cases are you accepting? What does it take to get legal aid, because I’ve always qualified, but was always denied? How is this not a severe, top priority case? Based on my observation and personal experience, they are most definitely discriminating. My prayer is that God exposes their unfair, deceptive practices, because this organization is corrupt.

Everyone from the team that I spoke with via telephone, email, or in person were some of the most kindest people I have ever met which was more than I could ask for in the predicament I was in. They handled my case with such tact I had no doubt whatsoever on what the outcome would be. I would recommend them without a doubt!
