I hired Sam Dally to handle a custody case. I asked him to arrange a meeting between the mother and I to negotiate a agreement. He suggested that he tell her to hire a attorney, I had to tell him not to give her free legal advice, he is my lawyer not hers. He called her and told her over the phone confidential information, breaking attorney/client privilege on his first interaction with her, she refused to set up the meeting.
